In a press release today John Jarvis, Senior Vice President, Europe, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and Managing Director of Wiley Europe Ltd., announced that Wiley has acquired A&M Publishing Ltd., the Guildford, U.K.-based publisher for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, and GIT Verlag GmbH, a Darmstadt, Germany-based publisher for the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, security and engineering industries. The terms of the transactions, which closed during the week of April 15, were not disclosed.
“This is a rare opportunity to acquire two strong publishing programs that complement and strengthen Wiley’s extensive offerings for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technical markets. Our complementary strengths will serve as the basis for enhancing our competitive positions,” said Dr. Jarvis.
