For almost 50 years, Haymarket has been an innovative force in specialist magazines, exhibitions, content marketing, and information services. It is the UK-based media company responsible for: Campaign, Marketing, Media Week, Autocar, What Car, Horticulture Week, FourFourTwo, Autosport, Brand Republic, Pistonheads, Practical Caravan, What HiFi, Motorsport News, and F1 Racing. It claims 72 market-leading brands in six countries and employs some 1,600 people, one-third outside the UK. The company is still owned by its founder,Michael (now Lord) Heseltine, the former UK Deputy Prime Minister. The charismatic centre-right politician was nicknamed “Tarzan” after he waved the parliament’s ceremonial mace above his head in noisy protest at his opponents. Neither he nor his company have ever lacked confidence or energy.
