News Corp is working on an app-based news service to blend original reporting with repurposed content from its many outlets, reports the Financial Times, which cites people familiar with the situation. It is said to be aimed at so-called millennials – people born between 1980 and 2000 who have never developed a newsprint habit.
The New York Times company has made a similar pitch for such consumers with its NYT Now mobile app, but – as reported yesterday – its latest digital subscription numbers were uninspiring.
