The second round process for a final candidate to buy The NEC has begun. In a statement, yesterday (1 July), the venue confirmed the process is set to complete by the end of the year.
Exhibition News believes there were around 15 initial bids for the venue. In the absence of any details from the Council Exhibition News has come up with its own hypothetical shortlist of four potential bidders for the venue and these are:
1. Abu Dhabi/ADNEC consortium following its success with Excel London
2. Consortium of organisers, such as Reed, Media 10
3. Genting, the American company behind the casino development at The NEC
4. Management buyout led by Paul Thandi and Kathryn James
