ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (February 5, 2015) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, today announced it has acquired Rushmore Reviews, a Scotland-based company that provides premium, subscription-based service for drilling and completions benchmarking solutions in the oil and gas industry.
Established in 1989, Rushmore is the premier provider of quality-controlled offset well data services to exploration and production operators. It maintains a database of 70,000 proprietary wells coverage for onshore and offshore drilling globally.
Rushmore provides a high-quality set of reliable, managed information that participating operators use to measure comparative well performance, set performance targets and support budgeting processes.
Scott Key, president and chief executive officer of IHS, said Rushmore’s benchmarking and analytics products strongly complement the existing set of IHS well information assets and expand them globally. “The combination will create best-in-class capabilities, giving IHS Energy customers information, software and historical context to make key business and efficiency decisions that are difficult to replicate elsewhere,” Key said.
