MCH Messe Basel, a company within the MCH Group, and Easyfairs Switzerland GmbH, a subsidiary of Artexis Easyfairs, sought an optimal solution for a national packaging and logistics trade fair in talks conducted on a partnership basis. The current platforms represent various core competences in the supply chain. Both event organisers have therefore decided to serve the needs of the sector by combining their Pack&Move and Transport&Logistics events and running them alongside the three Easyfairs packaging events in Zürich.
This creates a new national exhibition for Switzerland, which in future will bring together the entire value chain of logistics, packaging, distribution and trade under one roof.
The desire for a streamlining of the event landscape in the logistics and packaging sectors has been expressed for some time. Eric Everard, CEO of Artexis Easyfairs added, “We will work out the details of the concept in close collaboration with stakeholders from the packaging and logistics communities.”
The acquisition of Pack&Move Basel and the creation of a comprehensive packaging and logistics event concept are aligned with other recent developments in the Easyfairs portfolio. The company reached a major strategic alliance with Deutsche Messe (Hannover Messe) to co-locate its Empack and Label&Print events with the leading logistics show CeMAT in Hannover (which attracts 1,025 exhibitors and 48,000 visitors from 65 countries). Easyfairs organises co-located packaging and logistics events in Brussels and Madrid and will launch its first events in Portugal with Empack and Logistics Porto in September 2015.
The new Swiss logistics event will take place annually at Messe Zürich, with the first edition on 6 & 7 May 2016, alongside the established packaging events Empack, Packaging Innovations and Label&Print.
