Daily Mail and General Trust shares fell 11 per cent to a four-month low, after it became the latest newspaper publisher to be hit by falling UK advertising.
Advertising at its titles — including the Daily Mail, MailOnline and Metro — fell 6 per cent year-on-year in the three months to June. Stephen Daintith, finance director, said that telecoms companies and supermarkets had significantly reduced their spending.
