The three-day show has been acquired by Clarion Events from Live Promotion Events, which bought Race Retro from founder Ian Williamson in 2009, six years after it was first held.
Clarion is adding Race Retro to a portfolio that includes The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, The Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show, and the recently launched National Car Club Awards.
‘With many of the clubs that support our existing classic motoring events participating in historic motorsport, the acquisition is a natural progression as Clarion continues to support and develop with the classic movement,’ says Clarion events director Daniel Nwaokolo. ‘Race Retro comes to us as a well established, well supported show thanks to Live Promotions, and we look forward to building on the excellent foundations in place to further grow and develop the show using the vast experience of the Clarion team.’
